The story of the free-spirited French Princesse Liselotte oms, giving in to her father's wish, marries Philippe, le duc d'Orléans. Initially she is met with arrogance by her new husband and his court, and especially by his mistress Palatine, oms arbore her affair with Philippe in her face. Liselotte uses her charm and the weapons of her woman and soon wins over the court and also the affections of her husband. But her enemies spin intrigues against her and skulduggery is afoot.
