Heidi lives with her grand-père dans the Swiss Alps in the summer, and she and Peter play and tend the goats. Dans the hiver, she stays with Peter s mother, and they attend de l'école. One day a letter arrives from Heidi s friend, Claire Sesemann, à ill jeune oms spends most of her time in a wheelchair, stating she is coming for a visit. Heidi grand-père suggests she stay with Heidi, while the governess stays in the village to visit and keep an eye on Claire. Peter is resentful and suppressions Claire's en fauteuil roulant.
