Chouquette is about to celebrate her husband's birthday and she has invited several persons,only one of whom turns up : Diane, her hubby's mistress."Gepetto" , the spouse, is a man who is nowhere to be seen.Shortly after, a long drive begins along the roads of Britanny ,involving both women , Chouquette's grandson and the lover's mother they collect in an old people's home ;the conversation often hints at death ,and both friends feel they are getting old.
