Michael is a stubborn individualiste who makes mistakes and tirages the consequences. Roberta fights for her dream with injuste means, but she always restes sympathetic. The banker, is mean, but renounces with dignity. Lots of characters that are unsettled and uncertain, mirror of a time when the "total war" que already raging, a time when the theme of the cursed city a new dimension and could no longer only be interpreted as a reactionary critique of civilization.
